A woman in Taiwan has been charged after allegedly sexually harassing a male taxi driver during a late-night ride, including reportedly placing her hand inside his underwear while he was driving.
According to Taiwanese media reports, the incident took place in Taipei City and has since proceeded to court under charges linked to forced molestation.
The accused woman, identified by her surname Huang, allegedly boarded a taxi with a friend in the early hours of Nov. 29, 2025, after leaving a KTV venue in New Taipei City.
During the journey, she reportedly began chatting with the driver and asked about his relationship status before allegedly making suggestive comments, including saying that she “could sleep with him”.
Driver Allegedly Groped While Concentrating On The Road
Investigators said the woman was seated behind the driver and allegedly began touching the driver’s private area over his trousers while he was focused on driving.
The driver reportedly pushed her hand away to indicate rejection. However, prosecutors claimed the woman continued with the inappropriate behaviour and eventually placed her hand inside the driver’s underwear.
As the taxi was still moving at the time, the driver was unable to stop immediately and instead completed the journey before contacting police after the passengers exited the vehicle.
The case has attracted attention online due to the uncommon nature of the allegations, with many netizens discussing the issue of male victims of sexual harassment and assault.
Woman Claims It Was “Just A Joke”
During investigations, Huang reportedly admitted to touching the driver but denied having any intention to molest him.
She allegedly claimed that her actions were merely “a joke” and said she could not remember the driver attempting to stop her.
However, prosecutors stated that the driver’s statements remained consistent throughout the investigation. Witness testimony and additional evidence reportedly supported his account of events.
Taiwanese authorities subsequently charged Huang under laws relating to forced molestation, which carries a potential jail sentence of up to five years if convicted.
The first hearing at the Shilin District Court reportedly took place on May 21, 2026. Due to the sexual nature of the allegations, proceedings were not open to the public.
Reports indicated that both parties expressed willingness to pursue mediation, though discussions were postponed to a later date after the session ended before mediation arrangements could begin.
