Every day I feel anger that my parents decided it was a good idea to come here. Even they themselves regret it. They had a decent middle-class life in a country in the Middle East when I was a child. My dad was an employed oil engineer, and my mother was a working nurse. When they immigrated to Canada, none of that mattered. My mother, highly qualified in her field, never was able to work as a nurse here. My father, with 10+ work experience at the time and having worked in the States, Ireland, Kazakhstan, has never been able to work in the oil field in Canada. He had to work in fucking Burger King until he began looking for work overseas.
Regardless, they were willing to put up with it because of their belief that their children (me and my two sisters) would receive a high quality education and good employment. This too, was a lie fed by the government. I ended up with a degree in engineering, which ended up not mattering because the job market here is more about who you know instead of what you know, so I ended up having to enlist to find stable work that wasn't Uber or Skip the Dishes.
If you're an ethnic guy don't even bother coming here. It's a cold hell-hole, the government sees you as nothing more than a tax cow, and you will automatically be relegated as a social pariah. People see ethnics here as taxi drivers, fast food workers and janitors, they hate seeing ethnic men in any other position.
Unironically I am making a plan to get out of this country in the next six years. Canada is a legalized ponzi scheme that tricks people into coming here, depositing all their savings into Canadian banks/real estate, and then forcing them to work shit jobs to barely survive a ridiculous cost of living. It doesn't deserve you or any other productive member of society.
