I learned how to swim from playing SOCOM on my PS2 as a kid, no joke. I copied the movements and patterns of the soldiers in game, and applied it to real life, I’ve been swimming since I was 7(28 now). I did start out with floaties though, on both arms. I actually would try out for the Navy Seals if my knees weren’t fucked from heavy gym sessions, and if my eyesight wasn’t too bad(glassescel). I’m probably too old anyways, seeing I turn 29 in November and I’m doing my masters atm.

Not being able to swim seems to be more common in many Asian countries than in Europe or the US. I am not sure why.

I thought it was one of those things that almost every parent teaches their kid as a basic "survival trait" if nothing else.
