It depends on the other features. Being tall is an advantage but just being tall isn't enough if you are e.g. physically disabled or probably mentally disabled and ugly

I'd say it's rare, but yes. Depends on the height too.

But then again you look at the characteristics behind assortative mating being non mutually exclusive e.g having a taller height = generally deeper voice = generally greater facial bone structure, etc.
