I live in an apartment that’s over 100 years old and I have never thought that made my building better looking than the modern buildings that are around me. In many ways the newer buildings look nicer: large balconies instead of ugly exterior fire exits, brightly colored bricks and large windows, and large lobbies/store fronts on the bottom floors.
