What is the appeal of anime? Anime is little girls running around doing things, sometimes doing things with a storyline and magic or whatever. They speak with really high voices because the actors are aping Japanese preteen girls, everything has really bright colours and everything appears cartoonish and easy to comprehend. Is the target audience for anime in the west, apart from normalfags watching it "ironically", just developmentally disabled people? Developmentally disabled people are more likely to be paedophiles so it would explain a lot about all the flat chested anime girl pfps here as well.

I never watched anime before in all honesty

It depends. A lot of anime is anti degenerate and enforces typical gender norms. These days you can’t watch anything on tv or Netflix or theater that doesn’t shove multiculturalism, race mixing, and homosexuality in your face. Anime is an escape from that.

Animation that CAN feuture deeper themes and more niche aesthetical choices than your typical braindead western cartoon for normie kids.

I don't know how to describe it to you. I just feel attached to it for some reason. It's enjoyable and makes my life less miserable.

Whats the appeal of runnong you just get tired

Its just something people enjoy.

Just think of why people like animation in general and it crosses off a couple of things. And anime is a different style. I liked Naruto and Dragon ball and Dragon ball Z. Those are really the only ones I've watched in their entirety but obviously other anime I have seen parts of. I loved the Pokemon anime. Just watch some of these and if it isn't for you I really can't explain the appeal of it. It's cool. I liked the main character in each.

Are you talking about a specific show? That's like saying "Cartoons are about a yellow sponge that works at a restaurant".

It makes you delusional

Also this. Anime varies as much as any other style of animation in general does in terms of topics.

only shitty anime for kids is like that

watch monster or berserk for some serious shit

it’s just that spergs are really impressionable so they go a little too far with the Anime :feelskek:

It really depends on the genre, I don't like everything. For me personally, I have a hard time relating to the characters in really anything western, be it tv or movies, but I think it has more to do with the fact that I'm not looking at real people more than anything else. It's difficult to explain tbh.

This, the japanese can do great things with animation. From action scenes to cool aesthetics to fit the mood of the show.
Also a lot of anime basically panders to incel men, just look at how many series there are where the plain protagonist has a bunch of girls after his dick

I don’t know, I’m not gay.

There are wide variety in anime, or at least there once was. Your question is too broad and like asking what’s the appeal in music.

I'm sure you liked to grow up watching western cartoons.

did you get lobotomized after 2 months or what

Anime is high quality cope. The simplicity allows you to escape more easily into the world. Idk it's just base enjoyment; you don't need to think critically about most of it or anything, just sit back. Also, the main characters are often NEET and very easy to relate to compared to western programmes. The shows are blackpilled often too, and have the kind of edgy jokes that wouldn't be aired on western mainstream TV, and the audience of lonely men is targeted effectively. It's designed for us I suppose, and escapism is what we all want in a cope, to forget who we are and the situation in which we find ourselves.
I guess the little girl thing is kinda weird but anime is often aimed at young adults of teenagers who missed out on teen years and have never had a girlfriend or anything, and fantasise about power and love, both fulfilled by anime. It's interesting to see how simple humans are when whittled down to basic urges and wants.
I recommend you have a look at the Uses and gratifications theory and similar, I guess it might help you understand it when you don't enjoy it yourself.
I do heavily recommend anime, though, as there's something for everyone. I used to think similarly to you but found a few anime I liked and realised I was wrong.

Its just something people enjoy.

I agree that it's kinda hard to find a good anime in terms of story. I recently made a Myanimelist account (here, btw: https://myanimelist.net/profile/Mainlaender) and after going through all animes ever made to remember the ones I watched, I was surprised I only rate a handful of them really good, 8 or above (Gunbuster, Evangelion, Samurai Champloo, Dragon Ball, Kodomo No Jikan, Ranma, Dragon Ball Z and Miman Renai, that's all of them; and I dropped veen some of these, mind you).

And I have watched 109 animes and read 10 mangas.

But I like the aesthetics, I like that there aren't western shit like cultural marxist and feminist propaganda, white men being the villains and black men being the heroes, men who like young girls being considered monsters, etc. Japan culturallymogs the west to oblivion but in terms of story they rarely pinpoint it. Especially in terms of endings. For example, the only anime with a REALLY GOOD ending I ever saw was Gunbuster IMO.

If the high pitch voices annoy you, I'd suggest watching those girly animes in foreign dubs. For example, back when I was studying German, I watched K-On dubbed in German, I found the dub way better tbh because the girls really sound their age (high school) instead of fucking 5 or something.

We have a few animes in common. Mostly the old stuffs.
How come you didn't see the animated movie of Street Fighter 2 ? I liked V but the long feature was much better (they had more money obv).
I dropped YuYu Hakusho after the dark tournament.
And Ranma was kinda cool and fun to watch.

Anime was my top cope for a long time, it did get boring after about 500+ full series watched tbh.
I dropped from watching ~20 shows every season down to barely a couple per year seemingly overnight about 2 years ago.
I still read manga and VNs and enjoy most things that have anime aesthetics. I feel significantly stronger attraction towards 2D girls compared to regular foids as well, ngl. I fap to drawn porn a lot more compared to real stuff.
Now that I think about it, out of all the anime that I have watched (if you include movies, OVAs etc. the number would be around 800-900 probably) I wouldn't rate a single one of them a 10 out of 10. There were a lot of strong 9s but I wouldn't give any of them a perfect score. Separate episodes - yeah, but no full experience felt 100% satisfying for some reason. Meanwhile I've seen a significantly smaller amount of real life movies in comparison, but could think of a few 10s tbhtbh

there are all kinds of crappy chinese cartoons, try to expand your horizons a bit
the ones you are referring to are for people who like cuteness
I like cute things, so I watch cute things
and no, I'm not autistic/retarded/whatthefuckever

I don't like anime mainly because too many are too focused on shit like world building and consistency. I don't take cartoons seriously enough to care about such things.

It's cool. I can't really praise it. Some people just happen to like it and there are lot of good anime.

Because western animation, and generally the western entire cinematography, is dead. As @LiterallyASoyboy said,
I'm not looking at real people more than anything else
So Japan took over and is currently definitely superior at least in animation.

Btw don't get me wrong, I don't watch anime at all.

Living lobotomised me tbhtbh.

brutal

cope if ping pong animation isnt 10

There is manly and mature anime for adults and then there is highschool bullshit for trannies-in-denial with anime girl avatars who suck dick in walmart bathrooms

Ok I know you're trollling but...
Whats the appeal of reading youre just staring at words
There's significant brain activity involved, which is something that brings pleasure and improves writing and communication skills. You can learn a lot of stuff and I remember a study in which they concluded that reading fiction increases empathy.
Whats the appeal of running you just get tired
Fitness?

Anime is mostly kinda shit or at least it's just not for me. I have only enjoyed old anime and even then I'd rather play video games, read a book or even browse Reddit.
