1. First off I'd like to address the concept of "degeneracy"

There's no such thing, and by that I mean there's no such thing as "purity" (non-degenerate) when it comes to a biological existence, you are deluding yourself if you think otherwise. Living as a biological creature is inherently "degenerate" (as in impure/disgusting)
