Both are shit, the only rivalry is which is less shit
Battlefield is finished, EA conned everyone with BF6 since the post launch support has been crap. That's why the playerbase has left in droves despite it being the best selling game of 2025. Activision has added 20+ maps to Black Ops 7 since release, plus new content to endgame and zombies. The gunplay in Call Of Duty is better to me and also Modern Warfare 4 is coming in October.
The problem is that well, the games are way more different then people relize. BO7 is basicly a wacky ish have mindless fun type game. BF6 is a hardcore diet mil-sim for hardcore ish gaming. The 2 games apeal to 2 very different people wile I enjoy both.

I think CoD is adapting very well to the market. lots of zoomers are playing it today, lots of new age gamers who aren't zoomers too.
both games have the primary aim to have the biggest playerbase possible for an fps game and for that reason I think activision is doing better than ea.
People have grown up and realized they're so over bf now, if they wanted a proper war game they would rather play a sim like arma or war thunder, instead they're looking for casual experience playing arcade shooters which are inclusive to many mechanisms and CoD does a great job at that, those are just my two cents.
