This happens to me a lot. I’ve heard that in some parts of the US, it’s a sign of endearment but where I’m from it’s used to talk shit or as a way to mock you. Probably because they see me as some weak, incompetent kid. I almost never see this with men who are tall or even average height.
I very rarely get referred to as “sir,” The only place where I got referred to as “sir” in a regular basis was in the Philippines. Obviously there’s cultural and workplace training differences there but I am a SEAcel myself so I’d like to think it’s because I’m seen as an actual man there as opposed to some freak. Maybe I’m just coping. IDK
