europe isn't as doomed as usa
EU Europe, UK, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland are WAY, WAY MORE worse off than the U.S.A.
For example, I live in Finland where the most right-wing government ever (and the most right-wing government constellation possible given the available parliament parties) just raised Finland's VAT to 25.5 %!!! In the presidential election Kamala Harris lied that Trump wants to introduce VAT (at a very low level compared to EU Europe) in the USA. Harris intentionally misled the population and actually referred to Trump's planned import taxes. Trump has no plan to introduce federal VAT or sales tax. And the Democratic party opposes VAT and sales tax. While in Finland the best government possible still is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR, FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR LEFT OF KAMALA HARRIS WHO BY THE WAY IS AT (or at least was before in her political career, for example in the Democratic primary 2020) THE FAR LEFT WING OF HER PARTY. Think about this. And again. I hope you understand how bad things are in Finland compared to the USA. You wouldn't even believe how much one gallon of petrol costs. And coder who makes easily six-figures in USA earns under 30 000 euros GROSS per year. Of course our income taxes are the highest in the world also. And while PS5 Pro costs 700 dollars in USA, here it costs 850 euros. The add-on disc drive's MSRP is 80 US dollars but in Europe it is 120 euros but in Finland it is 150 euros but last I checked it was sold out and when available sold at higher than the normal price of 149 euros. Games that cost 70 dollars are 80 euros in all of EU despite VAT differences among euro-area countries (Sony makes less money in countries with higher VAT, the price in different EU PlayStation Stores that use the euro currency is the same despite different VAT rates).
