I'd even go as far as saying that children know everything about love.

I mean, I could invoke my personal experience, but I won't even, instead I'll refer to a female author, Amélie Nothomb. In one of her autobiographical books she tells a love triangle she had during childhood. In the postface she thanks her former friend for "teaching me everything there is to know about love". I believe she is right, love exists way before puberty, sex is just an element that adds on it later on.
