LOL, the Mongol army was 80% Turkic, their language Uigrian, their governing structure was Turkic as well, it's just that Genghis Khan and some early affiliated tribes with him were Mongols.

Turks did commit genocides, though not on a scale of Mongols. It was more of an issue of capability, rather than lack of will (to commit genocide), though.

For example, the Uighurs, are bascially a product of invading Turks conquering the local Iranians and Tocharians, creating a hybrid race. Those Turks came from Mongolian plateau.

Turks just like mongols also had a habit of killing civilians indiscriminately.

However, the biggest differences between Turks vs. Mongols was:
1. Turks were much less unified even under bigger confederations like Gorturks, Mongols were unified under Genghis Khan. this means Mongols had much greater available man power to draw from, able to take out much bigger targets much more quickly.

that basically meant even when Mongols reached Danube river in Europe they were still savages. While Turks, due to less man power since they were not unified into one banner, they were not able to advance as fast, therefore in the process of battling nearby civilizations, got eventually "assimilated" by superior culture (though still retaining a large number of savagery).

For example, the Mongols couldn't conquer South China (Song dynasty) for 50 years. By the time they finally did under Kublai Khan (a grandson of Genghis Khan), due to importation of European-invented trebuchets (from Middle East, namely the Caliphate, originally introduced by the Crusaders) able to break stronger city walls, they were more "civilized", and didn't engage in wholesale slaughter of South China.

If South China fell to the Mongols 50 years earlier under Genghis Khan or his sons, it would likely suffer the same fate as North China and Sichuan basin, ie almost total extermination, because by that time Mongols were still total savages.

2. Turks didn't have the luck of Mongols of defectors bringing siege tech

Mongols under Genghis Khan were lucked out coz north China at that time had lots of internal division. Some Khitans as well as Chinese were discontent with the Jurchen rule, and some defected to Mongols, giving them valuable intels, and siege techniques.

Without those siege techniques, Mongols would never be able to genocide lots of places, such as Tanguts, Sichuan, North China, Central Asia, and later on middle east and east europe. Since all those places had walls.
