BP is especially prevalent in manga/manhwa written for female audience (shoujo). For example there is a manga called "a sign of affection", fmc is the love interest of two guys. One is 188cm and other is 173cm, guess who gets her.

Yes, it unfortunately does. From what I've read, after a while it just becomes about gang warfare and shit like some 80% of manhwas already are. Though I'd say that it still looks like a series worth reading, at least the earlier parts.
