Disregard my larping efforts. I can't change it.

(Yes, this is another reddit thread)

I wanted to make a separate thread to answer your question. This is for those who have had the ‘Girl’ experience growing up.
Why girls may show more ‘resilience’ than boys:
Socializing- we’re taught from an early age that ‘we don’t matter’ and that everyone else comes before us.
This is also why girls appear to be more "mature" than boys to adults. They're forced to grow up sooner, basically.
The reason why same aged girls are more mature than boys is, that the prefrontal cortex of girls start to develop 1-2 years earlier than the one of boys.
The other part of the issue is that men are never taught introspection and empathy. These are a big part of the socialization of women and POC where they constantly have to self-evaluate in social settings, even the home, or face consequences for non-conformance or non-performance. Empathy is a big part of how you read the cues and understand non-verbals that are key to safe navigation. Men not only aren't taught that but are actively discouraged from learning it. This is also a key skill for navigating school, higher education, and the information economy. Introspection provides the capacity to learn from mistakes and adjust and plan and navigate social environments and continue to develop and respond to social cues and new environments where they can't dictate the terms.
Now obviously there are plenty of white people who struggle financially and live in abject poverty, but I think her point was that black americans have largely learned to deal with struggle to the point where it's almost seen as normal/expected. There probably weren't going to be news stories about it, especially when my grandmother was growing up.
Going back to boys, I don't think we (boys/men) have had to flex that same resilency muscle specifically as a gender. For decades it was generally advantageous economically to be a man. So now that economic winds have changed directions, women already have the leg up with it comes to resliency muscle. They've already had to deal with the negative aspects of having a cultural hegemony dominated by men so a new crisis isn't some shock to the system. It's just another hurdle you have to accept and deal with. I think this is one of the first socioeconomic/cultural hurdles that men & boys are facing specifically as a gender and it's a struggle to deal with.
No it's the opposite. Men/boys have always been given advantages. Females have been conditioned to allow this. Society is changing and becoming more equal. That's why we hear about woke or liberal this or that from mostly white men.
They don't even address the pointI’m hesitant to call you out for it, but you should maybe take a look at your use of “men/boys” and “Females”. It’s off putting and detrimental to any point you’re trying to make.
wall of text
women have the luxury of not being the breadwinner
Imma stop you right there
Edit: your edit makes it worse. Women can have kids. Women can have partners that we also need to care for. We have elderly parents we need to care for. Your assertion that only men have to care for families is horrifically outdated.
What a hot steaming load the comment you’re responding to is. It actually had my jaw dropping.

We'll just have to agree to disagree if you think things aren't getting harder for folks, kid.
I'm glad you've learned about poverty rates and have started to read about inequality, as you continue reading, I think you'll come to my way of thinking.
lol ok sounds great. have fun dealing with problems that only exist in your own head, fetus.
