let me tell you lettuce is the most underrated food. very little calorie, can be cooked to add volume to meals, can be eaten raw, add to sandwiches, or boil and add to soup. mogs cabbage.
boiled mushrooms are elite tier food.
i'm about to head to my local asian supermarket to get more mushrooms there it's like $4 for a whole pound of shiitake, and they have lots of other unique ones like king oyster. i might try steaming it in the rice cooker. there's a separate strainer looking thing and the flavor of whatever you want to steam sinks into the rice.
