I've always seen the difference between female redheads & redhead/ginger males akin to that of the difference with noodlewhores & male rices.Eh, I dunno. All of that applies to redheads as well (i.e., relative rarity and more people desiring them than there are of them), at least to the women.
I'd say different "types" have more appeal in different locations. In fact, one of the studies linked in that article leads to another recent study which found just that:
Redheaded women are more sexually active than other women, but it is probably due to their suitors
and even the studies which were mentioned in that article you posted had kind of mixed results, one of them showed that blondes were approached the most in nightclubs but at the same time brunettes were seen as the most attractive (yes, despite blondes being approached more), competent, intelligent and generally had the most bias in their favor. So it seems like it's a mixed bag overall.
Blondes being approached in nightclubs likely has to do with the stereotypical "bimbo" image.
Here's something I found:Yeah. The study I linked above specifically found that redheaded women, but not men, have more sexual partners and lose virginities sooner than other women:
Basically from what I've seen skimming through the various interlinked studies, it seems that blondes have somewhat higher salaries on average and are more sexually desired, brunettes have a crapload of biases in their favour (for example, one of the studies which found that blondes get higher starting salaries than brunettes and redheads still found that brunettes were on average seen as the most competent, intelligent and the best people to hire, this all being with the same people just having their images manipulated for other hair colors), while redheads usually come up short when it comes to biases, but since ginger women are still women they still get desired for their uncommon hair color like blondes do, while ginger men just get all the failos of that with nothing to make up for it.
It was found that blond women were more frequently approached by men whereas blond males did not receive more acceptances to their requests. However, in both conditions, red hair was associated with less attractiveness.
Hair Color and Courtship: Blond Women Received More Courtship Solicitations and Redhead Men Received More Refusals - Psychological Studies
Previous research on the effect of hair color on people’s evaluation and behavior has revealed discrepant results and the real effect of both male and female hair color on their mating attractiveness has never been tested. In Study 1, female confederates wearing blond, brown, black or red...

I also love how it confirms my theory that blonde hair is more of a halo for foids, whereas for males having darker hair is better.
