Tl;dr it is just a hybrid of black ops 4 and modern warfare.
Black ops 4 was very non friendly to noobs with high TTK, sliding abuse, etc so every lobby there'd be one or two guys wiping the floor with everyone else. This is also why the game is so hated my so many. They were bad at it.
Modern warfare was the exact opposite. It's the slowest most punishing to non campers game there is in the series. Even the developers admitted they did this on purpose. So it was a very unfun experience where everyone camped, nobody moved, and everyone had the same amount of kills due to blind luck/camping. Very uncompetitive and very boring
So cold war is like a hybrid of the two. It plays like black ops 4 was tuned down to be a bit more shitter friendly. So overall it's still a better game, but sadly not by much
From the beta it's also held back by dogshit maps, there's no way satellite and miami were made by treyarch, they're dogshit maps just like piccadily was, you get shot from every angle so everyone just camps
Otherwise, having some fun running and gunning and sliding around/bunny hopping with the spas shotgun and the ak74. Just like older cods. So at least it's not as bad as modern warfare was.
