You can see the emotion in tyrions eyes in this scene, because someone is standing up for him in a life in which he has been abandoned and rejected by not just his family but by pretty much everyone he’s ever met.

This scene shows just how hard life can be if you’re born as a genetic subhuman (no matter how wealthy or high status your family is).
