Hard to say.
I rarely listen to metal now because metal is rather teenage music, but from the previous times:
Iron maiden
Attack
Paradise Lost
Helloween
Scorpions ( if they can be considered metal ).

I was greatly attracted to Metallica and Slayer during adolescence but stopped listening to Slayer after I started attending Church.
It's music based on hatred and aggressive, primal, carnal and morbid impulses.
My mother once said that she became I'll after hearing Slayer although she was in another room.
