- Mixed right wing nationalism with left wing socialism.
- Fathered plenty of children.
- Ran a successful country for 2 decades.
- Helped Franco defeat leftist scum.
- Wanted to restore the roman empire.
- Brought back the Roman salute.

Despite two mistakes (Invading Ethiopia & Greece) He was mostly based as fuck. I hope to visit his grave one day:hax:

Why was the invasion of Ethiopia a mistake?

Hitler mogged but Mussolini was great also

He's a short king too

Mussolini was admired by basically the entire west prior to 1935. Everyone knew he was a great leader.
The conquest of Ethiopia avenged Adua and restored Italian national pride.

As for anti-fascism, 1935 was not a decisive turning point; ideology is downstream of power and the ruling classes of Western plutocracies were inevitably pitted against Mussolini.

The only significant consequence to my knowledge was the collapse of the Stresa Front.

Yes, joining Hitler's war was a fatal mistake but he could have avoided that without the Stresa Front; let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Had he stayed out of WW2 he could have survived as long as Franco did.

Perhaps Mussolini's survival would have lengthened the lifespans of the Iberian regimes as well, since they wouldn't have had to rely on NATO as much as in OTL.

Libyan oil, for example, would have been a game changer.

He would have probably remained neutral in the cold war too.

"The great illusion of our days is that democracy and liberalism are the antithesis of Communism and have the power to stem the tide of the forces of the low, what is called the ‘progressive’ movement in the jargon of the labour unions. This illusion is like saying that dusk is the antithesis of night, that an illness’s incipient stage is the antithesis of its acute and endemic stage, or that a diluted poison is the antithesis of the same poison in its pure and concentrated state."
― Julius Evola, Orientations: Eleven Points
