I work in a male dominated industry and my team consists of 6 other men around my age. One of them is kind of both an employee/manager at the same time due to some weirdness in our department but that’s not completely relevant.
At this point, after working with this company for 3 years, I am not officially the only single guy, and I’m pretty sure it shows. When I first started, there were only 3 other guys here and 2 of them were single. Those 2 found their girlfriends AT THE WORKPLACE from the other department and now I often see them hanging out on their breaks and sometimes leaving together at the end of the day. Those 2 guys changed their attitude significantly since they started hanging out with those girls. When I first started going, they seemed often seemed kind of down and defeated like I often am, but once they started meeting the girls from the other department, a switch flipped and their defeatist moods instantly did a 180. It really does show that female presence in a man’s life can COMPLETELY turn his outlook on life and the world around.
So over the years the other 3 guys joined, and surprise surprise, they also have a girl in their home life already. One of them, and I talked about him in previous posts, is a literal autistic manlet troon who has had a gf for 5 years now and often likes telling us about his romantic stories with his girlfriend. He also likes telling us the story of how he met her, and he’s always like “yeahhh I just met her on a dating app!!!” FUCK HIM.
Bro one of these days I genuinely think I’m going to go ER where I work. I’ve never told any of the other guys I don’t have anyone in my life but I’m pretty sure it’s obvious to them. I also have a brutal story that happened to me recently that I’m going to make in a different post. It’s this exact situation why I decided to join this site in the first place.
