I think I was overparented.

To some degree maybe I now lack some degree of skill in making my own decisions but the bigger problem I think is that it FEELS wrong to make them myself.

Like... it's unsatisfying. I want someone else to carve a path for me, you know?

But I think that's inevitable if I was overparented. I need to overcome it now.

I don't know if anyone else here can relate to this but I thought it was worth noting down! :)

What is your avi from?

Sheltered is an incel trait. I don't think I could get a haircut or order food without my mother.

Aw, heh. Yeah it's not good. My mum actually died a few years ago so that made it very clear to me that I need to move on from relying on my parents >.<

This happens to me as I have an abusive overprotective parents

i never knew my parents

No. I'm only 17 I can tell people still think it's weird when I ask my mom what she think of everything.

To be fair the brain doesn't finish developing until 25.

And it's OK to ask parents for input.

But yeah it's good to try to develop independence ^^

I was simultaneously neglected and oversheltered by my parents as a kid. Not sure how to explain it.

I can relate.
