Some of the best players in the NHL are younger than me. Guys like Connor McDavid (who might be the best player in the world) and Auston Matthews were born in 1997. I was born in 1996. The dude who is expected to be drafted number one overall this year, a Swedish defenseman named Rasmus Dahlin (who is a once in a lifetime prospect, he is that good) was born in 2000. These guys make millions of dollars (or will soon), are loved by millions, and could get any girl he wants. Any man in Edmonton would be cucked if Connor McDavid wanted to fuck his bitch. Maybe even in all of Canada (though Justin Beiber has more SMV ofc). Dude isn't all that amazing looking (not ugly but normal). But he has high status.
These kids have had life made for them while I continue to rot and struggle through life, not being able to get myself to a place where I'm not lost.
I know hockey isn't the only place profession where there are younger people more successful than you by many miles, but it hurts as a fan of the sport.
I was very sad about the kids that died on the Humboldt Broncos in that bus crash a few days ago (yes I still have the ability to feel sympathy/empathy for others). But at least they enjoyed life more. Having great teammates as friends and girls that liked them. Some of them, or even many of them, were probably pretty decent people. And it sucks they died and I feel for their families and friends. But at least their short lives were probably enjoyable.
I know many of you will mock me for being a fan of sports, as it's something that Chads do. But I don't think I can see myself ever not liking them. I enjoy watching and playing them. It's just too bad I can't be any of them.
