Let's consider neckbeards.
Neckbeards are overwhelmingly repulsive individuals even by my own standards. Ugly, fat, unkempt men who display undue arrogance are just something that "triggers" our limbic system into contempt.
Yet... Has anyone (that is, beyond this forum) asked why some teenagers become neckbeards? Do normies and cuckitors really think that someday a teenager decides to become a lardass nobody likes?
No. What happened was actually a vicious circle. A normal, nice child was picked on at some point for an attribute he had no control over. This child developed resentment and bitterness over this perceived injustice. This resentment and bitterness led him to hating on normie society, and then, progressively, to embrace ever more antisocial behavior, ever more reinforced by negative social experiences.
At some point, most neckbeards realize this vicious circle is leading them nowhere but under a bridge and make an effort to become normal again. This effort usually implies a form a stockholm syndrome in which the neckbeard internalizes that most of what happened was his fault.
Which is true. But the actual trigger (being picked on for being fat or ugly) is completely forgotten. Even therapists usually try to sweep this under a rug as fast as possible. To my mind, this original trigger is the most important thing to know, and it reveals much about the human species.
