I believe rap officially became the highest-grossing music genre in the US in 2015. The mid-2010s in general seem to be when nigculture ascended from just being a part of the mainstream to becoming the mainstream.i'm an oldcel in my mid 30s and I clearly remember the moment when nigger music truly took over in America.
It all started with Justin Timberlake imo. There was a time in the 90s and early 2000s when mainstream music was not niggerized. Were talking about NSYNC, Britney spears, Fatboy slim, SUm41, Linkin park, etc... There was also dance music from europe that was very popular in America at this time. The matrix movie defined the early 2000s era and it was evident by the fashion and dance/rave music.
Then came Justin Timberlake and he started to sing and make beats with nigger music flare. It all went downhill from there on it and right now, mainstream American music culture is basically nigger music.
Also the fact that the Hispanic population exploded also contributed to American pop music and early 2000s dance music fading away.
The only reason why "EDM" made a huge come back in the early 2010s was because of Asian Americans and a high number of suburban white kids adopting the more newer genres of EDM such as electro house/deep house/mainstream house. Whereas Asian Americans were much more into mainstream trance.
