What does it even MEAN to be an adult?
Well, to be self sufficient. Go own your own home, to have a good paying job that SHOULD be profitable for society, to have a wife and eventually children and to do adult things : Sex, Alcohol, Gambling.
The reality tho seems to be quite the opposite for Gen Z and especially men.
One of the most visible signs of Gen Z's delayed adulthood is the fact that many are still living at home. According to recent studies, over 50% of Gen Z adults in their 20s live with their parents, a stark contrast to previous generations at the same age. This trend isn’t necessarily due to laziness or a lack of ambition - like Boomers and Gen Xers tell us - Instead, it’s often a response to economic realities!
In Germany many politicians and old farts wonder why young people dont want to go into blue collar trades? Well - because all jobs are McDonalds!

An education also means little as my 4 years in College left me off with no friends or opportunities as to do an internship and then work a 30€/h job with a Bachelors degree in STEM!
And I realized I am first of not much interested in a career - nor will there be any in my sector.
Job jumping became a Gen Zs game of getting more money. Continously writing applications over the internet on shitty sites like indeed and linkedin is essentially an unpaid side-gig.
Furthermore and thats primarily from personal experience - I still get treated like some kid. Literally adults belittle me, antagonize me and bully me for being different then what they were in their 20s.
Social Media is yet another reason. Besides the indoctrination and Dopamin explosion, Gen Z and Gen Alpha are BURNED OUT! How could anyone even want to work a REAL JOB if some assholes make millions of dollars of REACTION videos, lets plays, dance short clips, faceless AI channels and E-Prostitution like Onlyfans and Instagram!
More and more Gen Zs and Millenials join the Hustle culture either from cope of trying to impress other people or to make more money then from a 9 to 5 - which is actually a 8 to 6.

30 yo loners are quite quitting while playing Video games and trying to "party" with young women because they tryhard to get a girl like they missed out in their teens and 20s.
Gen Z is getting older yet stay kids and you wont ever expect kids to behave like mature and masculine powerful grown ups.
