Definitely the way to go, because you can’t even appease the western “audience” anymore. There will always be some vocal group on Xitter complaining about something and trying to get you to change your game.

What modern good games come from Japan other than Soytendo ?

Beyond Citadel, Megaton Musashi W, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Metal Bringer (they just need to balance stage 3 so you won't need to grind for 15h to survive), Palworld, Ys X, EDF 6, Star Ocean 2nd story remake. There are a couple of other games but i haven't played them enough or at all to be the judge.
