Moralsoys like shame men who complain: "Well, be grateful that you at least live in XXI century, not in Middle Ages, XIX century or before the second world war :soy:".
But was life really much more worse and brutal than now?
Yesterday I have read that Confederate states drafted 18-35 y.o. men during the war. Compare that to Ukraine where they draft anyone under 60 y.o.
Of course life expectancy was low in the XIX century ( like 40 y.o. ).
But life expectancy for men in Ukraine was 65 y.o. in 2021.
So, nothing really changed except the fact that in XIX century an average male would have more life experiences before 18 y.o. than average male in the XXI century.

It's a trade-off. And what is preferable depends on what time exactly we are comparing the present to, what country you are living in in the here and now, on your personal priorities and on how the next few decades play out.
But yeah, comfort and even security are overrated and a life filled with humiliations but devoid of love, respect, sex, self-worth and social bonds is hell. So there are probably many among us who would have had a better time as part of some african tribe or conquerning germania as part of the roman legions or who knows what. Despite a few decades lower life expectancy and more deprivations throughout.

Living now probably beats living in the middle ages for all its faults, it would not be a comfortable life at least I can rot comfortably

1960-1990 seems like peak life though

there's a guy here who said something really profound that basically illustrates why living in this period sucks regardless of having these computers to cope with.
This right here, I look back at the previous decade aka my twenties and everything is so bland and empty. Copes don't make good memories, people do.

It wasn't

I wish I was born 1890 and died sometime in the '80s. Would've lived through both world wars and pretty much witnessed the invention of everything we have today.

well at least Id probably have sex before dying at 30 in the middle ages

Back in the day most men were able to get a girlfriend as long as they had a job

Humanity peaked in the late 80s.

Humanity peaked in the late 80s.
It depends.
Some things in the past were organized better than in today's world.
It seems that ancient Egyptians had a system where you could complain anonymously without being labeled as snitch like in our times.
Many people don't seek justice because they fear retaliation from powerful bullies or thugs.
Where were many other aspects that our societies lack.
For example you could buy a wife in the Babylon.

life expectancy charts are overrrated because of how they are estimated. Example people died young because of cholera from drinking water that people and animals would poo in, but still people lived to even 100 years old even in the old days. Thing is those days we had no medication for malaria, no vaccines so people with weak immune systems for what ever reason died young but also many survived till old age. People ate good clean food those days.

also back in the days there was food insecurity if the army was weak because your stocks would be plundered by invaders etc so you starve get weak etc.

What I trying to say its the way they calculate the life expectancy statistics, do you get me? Btw men today are living in hell and many die young in their 40's or 50's from suicide, drinking too much, not taking care of their health, opioids . Then the statstics include foids and chads living to 100 but dont show you incels roping and drinking to death

Yes even in the Bible it's written, that human life expectancy is about 70 y.o. if I'm not mistaken.

bible says 120 years , dont ask me where becoz to lazy to read that book but 120. Maybe you are right with 70 but I recall 120

It's obvious for anyone who isn't a :bluepill: cucktard that life was much better in the past because there was no social media back then, plus if you were an ugly subhuman in the first part of the 20th century you could enlist in ww1/2 and ask to be sent to the front line so you could painlessly escape your shitty life thanks to a enemy bullet.

Plus prior to WW1, hookers were on every corner.

So much this

I honestly wouldn't have liked living WAY back then. The recent past was an extremely good time period to live in, like being a teen in the 80s-90s was pretty much optimal.
