I'm currently reading that loosy ego trip of a dystopic future where some girlboss lady gets annoyed by state interventionism. Extremely self-centered and blind of class consciounsness, naive in a sense. I can't believe americucks see this foid as a top tier thinker. Ultimate proof the US is a nation of drawback barbarians without history giving to much leisure to its most parasitic classes.

My main gripe is that the writing is objectively bad. Most modern comic books have more nuanced characters than Atlas Shrugged and the pacing is plodding at best.
Before coming to the US, Ayn Rand was exposed to ham fisted Soviet Propaganda, and unfortuantely it shows in her writing style. A good writer would write a good story and then weave their philosphy into it. Rand writes her philosphy and then shoe-horns her novel around it.

nuanced characters
That's what lacks tbh. And they are very superficial and egocentric, most of their thoughts revolving around how the appear to others, money, etc. Quite feminine in a sense.

Yes, she's defending her thesis without being subtle. However soviet propaganda is obvious as it totally undertake its literal function and doesn't pretend otherwise. Rand is pretending to write a fiction that would normally allow more room for after thoughts or distancing.
