I tried searching about the performance but the wiki page lacks information. I see that it's principally used for pick-ups and trucks. However, I found more results about its variant the small block v8 and there was a lot of re-conception through the years. It seems to have a flat plane crackshaft as the firing order is said to be 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 just like the 2nd part.in this image. Why do you prefer the big block ?

Cross plane actually. Flat planes are in foreign V8s, and most American V8s are cross plane.

The BBC engine is bigger. That’s why I prefer it. It’s self explanatory basically, since it uses the same technology as a SBC and being bigger makes more power
