If I were to start life over id take athlete path over being some stem wagie who now works at a food plant as IT guy. Athletes literally love stress free joyful lives running after a ball, get status of being good at something normies care about plus constant travel and intermingling people means you’ll probably get connections to be set for life. I know an athlete from high school who constantly travels around US and world and seems to live above daily drudgery of 9 -5. I know most athletes don’t make it but on grand scale athletes are probably one of best human jobs you could aspire to get.

Genetics are also a massive factor in that just like in everything else in life. I doubt I have any talent for any sports even if I started training in them at a very young age.

Yeah but if you make it to college being an athlete at a somewhat decent uni where you make friends with rich people you might get a job at a comfy office where you do nothing and go out to golf every Friday with bros.
