I realise that most of us won't know if it's easy to make friends as an old person, lol

I would say as a kid

before age of 16-18

Childhood and young adulthood.

mostly as a kid, you have that environment and you don't judge people because well you don't know anything.

Unless you're really shy tho

First year of college.

The older you get, it only gets much harder.

You can talk to old people, but it's all fake bullshit and holes are just as evil and manipulative as they've always been.

The best and longest-lasting friendships are mostly made during childhood.

idk I never had a friend irl

The older you get, the harder it gets on average

It’s never easy to make friends

Definitely as a kid

for most people its probably as a kid
but for me its easier as an adult

Highschool if you're a normie and college if you're nerdy. Afterwards it is still possible but harder. You can make friends at literally any age, even 50+. People are lonely and look for connection so don't give up if you didn't make friends yet.

I would like to believe that but it's likely just cope...

Lucky! :)

Tell us your secrets!
there's no secret, i just try socializing with people/colleagues/peers
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

of course people aren't as receptive to me because I'm a sub-5, but its not completely hopeless

It's not just cope. I have made lasting friendships with much older people. They might be more shallow friendships than when you are younger but at least we socialize and help each other.

Conversely, I have fallen out or lost touch with high school and college friends as well to the point that we live 5 mins from each other but never talk, whereas we hung out every day in highschool.

I would say that just like in dating it also largely depends on how good looking and NT you are.
The worse your stats, the harder it is of course going to be.
If you look and act weird/defective like me then there is no chance you will ever have any friends at any point in your life and most people are going to be your enemies except people who are exactly like you and those are extremely rare

Normies can make friends at any age. Doesn't matter even a bit to them.

Apparently the brain changes/matures a lot between 17 and 25.

Which explains I think why so many people seemed to become different people over that part of their lives.
