1) It is real.
2) Other planes of existence: I think there have been times where I've met other entities, spirits, or new realms in dreams. These occurred especially after a long period of fasting, chanting, meditation, or retention, trying to purify the brain, body, and heart chakras. I have vague recollections of gardens, temples, or schools, even some mountain caves and being on a ship at sea, during these dreams. Other entities interacted with me and spoke or gave knowledge during these dreams
3) You could just as well say that this waking world is but a product of your mind. Actually, if you really think about it, there is a way to tell the difference.
Souls are individual, although you can try mind reading and get pretty close to it by picking up on subtle cues / telepathy / dream communication, it's very difficult to get to 100% mind reading (unless you are fully communed with the mind of God who controls the minds of all individual souls). The collective world of shared experiences of consciousness extends to the dream realm and the waking world too, the boundary between "reality" and "just a product of my own mind" is fuzzier than you think.
If you've encountered something which you've never encountered before (either while awake or in a dream) you can more confidently say that it's "real". But if you have a dream based on an experience in the waking world but fuzzier, then it's more unreal because it's more based on your own emotions, biases, preconceptions. Like if you visit a totally new university with a completely alien or foreign architecture in a dream it's more likely to be "real" in the dream realm. But if that university kind of looks like the uni you go too, you're just imagining / daydreaming / concocting stuff based on what you already know. Both situations are possible.
4) Modern-day secular buddhism is a false religion. If you want to learn about true Buddhism, you should go directly to the founder, Lord Buddha. Before he renounced the world to achieve enlightenment as an ascetic, Lord Buddha was an ancient Aryan prince, a member of the kshatriya caste, a member of the Vedic nobility destined for kinghood. The advisors (gurus) of kshatriyas were brahmins (priests) who knew how to directly commune with the gods (devas). The existence of heaven, hell, reincarnation, gods, demons, deities, spirits, was completely known about and admitted in such a system.
