Its only worth fighting if you think you can win. If you are pretty sure you will lose hard its better not to fight. The West/Jews can take over Iran and the Iranians wouldn't just be gone. They would then be inside the walls of the empire. And from there play the political game over the long run and work with like minded countries. Its not even like Iranians disagree with the Westerners on most things, at this point the Middle Eastern countries have become quite 'Westernized'.
To give an analogy in Star Wars fighting the empire is suicidal. Its better to just join the Empire Federation of Planets and send your delegates to the Empire capital. And come under Empire control to some degree like they will have rules and regulations you have to implement. Its hard to say how the Empire would evolve politically like their ideology and aims over centuries.
In Stars Wars the other alternative was to ally with a bunch of arrogant rebel hippies who are also power crazed, but shitty at running things.
