I don’t have cancer, but I do have a chronic intestinal condition that makes them need high doses of laxatives every day to function. Ever since age 13, they have needed that to keep working. I’d die without the meds because my intestines don’t work on their own. They also don’t absorb nutrients well as proven by the fact my iron level dropped to 9, which is borderline deadly, despite eating lots of meat. I have to take iron pills every 3 days for the rest of my life to keep it in check.
