I wear headphones in public almost all the time, because the noises are very distracting, and can be irritating. It may make it harder to socialize, because headphones make you seem like you don't want to talk.

No, I don't really go into public much. When I do, I want to look as normal as possible so I don't wear headphones. I get what you mean about busy places being irritating though.
