Yes, indeed. That thing reminded me of something. The two men who interrupted my conversation were soyish looking nerds, in the most typical sense of the word, and thry had very impressive knowledge - i am the only person i knew until hearing them speak that knew as much as i did about that topic (the topic was pleistocene megafauna in australia and the great american exchange). The reason im mentioning this is that for all their nerdiness, they are ultimately normal people. The assertiveness and ease with which they spoke shows that. There are normal people who have quirks about them, like these two, and than there are people like us. Idk why i wrote it but im sure you understand.

well, its not only that. Once i was very desperate for any social contact, so i decided to join some stupid DND session. The guys there were again soyish nerds. And the thing is, its very clear they thought themselves special and weird, probably even proud of that. If they only knew how much it sucks to actually be weird
