Tech millionaires enjoy both the luxuries of wealth while dodging a large part of the stigma associated with wealthy capitalists. When the product is just some software developed by a team of white-collar workers, it's very hard to conduct business in a way that would draw negative attention. In the age of technology, their efforts are almost universally recognized as important and worthy of high compensation.

All they need to do is employ their high IQ in a comfy office environment or their very homes, and the path to success and admiration is open.

Now everyone and their moms want to get into tech so the competition is really really hard.

Sorta true and not true. It's competed as hell but fact is that being high IQ (and creative) have always been the key to success and still are.
