Absolutely not, especially nowdays where nerd culture is widely appropriated by girls and even the media. I'm not sure where people get the idea that incels are spending their time playing games and watching anime came from, in every forum I've been there are people from all walks of life. What might skew the data is that people who spend most of their time online will find such communities quickly compared to those who might be older and not familiar with the technology.
I think the lack of an active love life gives more time to be involved in indoor activities.

I think normies and CHADs appropriated nerd culture. The problem is real nerds never went away or ever scored, so we now classify ourselves as incel to distance ourselves from the rest of society.
Also there are tiers of nerdiness that are unacceptable to normie nerds. Like a normie nerd thinks playing Street Fighter, and watching One Punch Man makes you nerdy. But there's a level of nerd that plays Civilization 5, watches Neon Genesis Evangelion over and over, and unironically owns a dakimakura thats incel tier.

If you are chad, you would be better at sports, better with women and getting friends. Thus you would have more incentive to go outside. While an incel who is the total opposite doesn't have those incentives, so he plays games instead. For example football: a chad would go out and play real football, while an incel would play FIFA.
Could a chad still prefer staying inside playing games rather than being outside? In my opinion only if the chad isn't good at sports and physically weak (not a true chad actually). This is because actual real life sports and activities are always more fun (given that you are good at them) than playing them in games. What is better: driving a real racing car or playing Gran Turismo? Being in a millionaire gangster in GTA or being one in real life? Having an actual life or playing The Sims? etc etc.
