In a tribal settings, you would more or less be related to everyone in your community. All your friends would be your siblings or cousins, so if you ever got into a fight, you would later make up and reunite through your shared blood. In the modern day, your friends will leave you if you become too much of an inconvenience, or stop being entertaining enough for them. So yes I think friends are fake, in fact Im not sure friends can even exist since the label of "friend" is in your mind and your mind can change in an instant.
Had an acquaintance at my former job that had somewhat similar interests, even that almost backfired and had its strain on me, could never imagine having another dude in my apartment taking up my time and space wanting to hang and do shit, friends to me are for youth and family oriented people not socially estranged incels and bachelors.
