Eugenic not in the racist sense (even tho black people will be significantly more affected, kek), but in the individual, financial sense - only the rich will be able to afford shitting a lot of babies, as no home - no big family. Unless the government provides it for you. If the population keeps growing, home prices will only continue to grow, too.
I see three possibilities:
-the large majority will be so fed up of not even being able to afford a fucking pod - they will start a communist revolution. This, obvisouly, won't help shit tho, because
the problem is primarely overpopulation. Sure, they will storm some elitarian gated communities, or some nature reserves, but still. Only once they kill millions or introduce a child policy, shit will get better.
This is actually the second possible outcome. People will for once be smart, and realise, that people can't shit 6 babies forever. The question remains, if you want the smartest people to be able to make more children, and, what the punishment shall be for producing more babies than you are allowed (castrating you and lower the amount of babies your children are allowed to have, or just a fine, etc.)
Talking of fines: This is actually the third option:
Only the wealthy can produce a lot of children. This could either happen through a tax that you need to pay to produce more than 2 children, or, quite naturally, through the limitation of land. The question is: Is this a good, positive kind of "eugenics"? or will it only help the greedy, anticompetitive, unfair, ...?
and - once we achieved general artificial intelligence - is this kind of eugenics even still possible? as human labour will become redundant, and everybody lives based on the government or whatever entity who created the super intelligence - money can't be used anymore to differentiate the "good, hardworking, smart citizens" from the rest.
as mentioned, the bright side of the status quo - homes becoming ever more expensive - is, that foids will need to find a husband to help them secure a home for their babies.
the downside - this will me a ultra competitive mess, and the people will be busy trying to make money to secure a future home for their families - instead of caring for the greater good. this could spell real trouble once we have AI - which should be for the greater good and not individual gain.
