I’m thinking something like the colonials from that book “all tomorrows”. These aliens basically come and turn a bunch of people into these flat squares of flesh with only an eye and a reproductive organ, but it’s like a colony of them stuck together. They can only survive on fecal matter, the aliens turned the colonials into a sewage system for their new society they built on that conquered planet. The colonials are still 100% conscious and aware of everything too, the aliens made them retain their intelligence. So they basically can’t move and have to eat alien shit for 10,000 years till the end of their lifespan. They want to die but can’t.
