My psychiatrist prescribed me Xanax XR 1mg, but I quickly built up a tolerance to it and started taking Ativan instead (without his knowledge, he still doesn't know I've quit taking Xanax XR and am substituting with lorazepam). Is it safe to switch back to Xanax XR without tapering down from the lorazepam first? They're both benzos, after all
