Thanks! My psychiatrist prescribed me Xanax XR 1mg, but I quickly built up a tolerance to it and started taking Ativan instead (without his knowledge, he still doesn't know I've quit taking Xanax XR and am substituting with lorazepam). Is it safe to switch back to Xanax XR without tapering down from the lorazepam first? They're both benzos, after all

They may be both benzos, but idk if they have the same potency.

Yeah, Xanax. Prescribed. I also take Seroquel XR as an anxiolytic.

That's all right. I have enough lorazepam left to safely taper down with, anyway. I just hope my memory isn't scarred for life! I've already noticed I need to read things over multiple times before I've fully absorbed everything

My answer would be yes as long as you are substituting one benzo with another because they all work on the same GABA recepter
