Because dating a cumskin is a reflection of English fluency, and by extension, socioeconomic status and cultural capital. In Hong Kong, if you see a WMAF, the AF in the equation is usually at least middle class, and if you see an AMWF, the AM is usually affluent.
Only a relatively small minority of HK residents can afford to send their kids to international schools, to live in or around the central business district, and the like -- making them more likely to speak English fluently and interact with whitey.
