I have. It's a fairly enjoyable and easy read. There's a some things in it I prefer over the movie. For example, Alex instead of having sex with jbs he met at a music store, lures girls into his room by promising them food and rapes them. Although, I personally wouldn't rape children (feds leave me alone) I enjoy what this adds to Alex's character. It shows there are no lines he won't cross in regards to taboos.

Another thing I preferred over the movie was the scene where Alex undergoes his "treatment." In the movie, Alex is shown videos of national socialists marching, which I always found very cringeworthy. In the book, Alex is shown footage of Japanese torture and other violent videos, such as a sharp object I can't remember the name of being forced into someone's eyeball.

Stanley Kubrick changed it because it was "too violent and disturbing" for audiences. Imo it's more likely he changed it because he's a jew and wanted to play victim. (Still a good movie)

Anyways, I'd strongly suggest that you read A Clockwork Orange if you enjoy books. You can find a free PDF online pretty easily.

No but i saw the movie and liked it for the most part

I might read it sometime but I've barely been reading books anymore, my ADHD just keeps getting worse and worse each year

Also it's Lomax Delarge's favorite book

What's it about? I've always heard it being mentioned in the past, but never got around to watching the movie or checking out the book.

A violent rapist sociopath thug in a futuristic dystopian England.

It's an easy read. I have ADHD too and managed to get through it.

The book is better in some aspects. In others the movie is superior.

I will probably read the book, I liked the film.

Alex Delarge grubbed the foids in the book, in the film he just has consented sex with them.

The rape scene is a bit more brutal than that.

I got halfway through, but didn't finish it for some reason (I had been enjoying the book so far.) I should probably start from the beginning and finish it this time.

Yeah I like the linguistic aspect too. It has based lingo like here.

You should.

The lingo was nice and made the book unique.

i liked the movie a lot, I'm not sure that weird, kind of dream like feel, could be translated into a book, although i haven't read it. Kubrick is my favorite director.

No time for the old in out

I read some of it. Not sure if I would say it was an easy read due to the Russian slang, and I didn't know what most of it meant but luckily, the previous owner left a little "cheat sheet" that helped

The book is arguably more surreal than the film as it’s written in a fictional dialect influenced by Russian. Not to mention that it’s way more graphic and overall edgier than the movie

The book is a lot more extreme than the movie. Stanley Jewbrick toned it down quite a bit.

fun fact about the author of that book:

his pregnant wife got raped and assaulted by 4 AWOL US troops during ww2, which made her miscarry.
and because he was stationed in Gibraltar, he couldn't see her.

could have served as some inspiration for Alex and his droogs.

The nazi stuff was also in the books.
The movie is based off the US release of the book which is missing the final 21st chapter. I have read the book along with the 21st chapter and it completely ruins the story. Changes it from an antisocial satire to moralfaggotry. If I were to ignore the 21st chapter I would say I preferred the book as it is more graphic, we get more of Alex's crew, Alex is a little bit funnier, and the term "Clockwork Orange" is explicitly explained. I liked how F. Alexander wrote the "Clockwork Orange" book. Movie is still amazing and I'm glad Kubrick chose not to cover the final chapter.
