I would rather live in a forrest and have a rifle to shoot deer/game with than be a farmer. Like @racoon4 says I think tending to animals could get quite tedious. I like the idea of just going out and shooting a few deer, butchering them and putting them in a freezer. Don't know how many deer it takes to feed a man through the year but seems to me like overall less effort. I guess having a few chickens for eggs wouldn't hurt.

I live in the countryside and I can tell you that is the best cope and animals are not that pretentious.I feed my pigs twice a day and they are actually waking up very late.You need massive amounts of corn and sunflower for pigs and chickens they are eating a lot +you needed to clean up(I clean up daily at the pigs and once a month at the chikens).I have 20 hens and I take from them 5-10 eggs per day(A hen should make an egg at least once every 3 days if not she is older and you better eat it but i honestly don't like the taste of old chicken so I leave them to live until they die) It's also very sad for me when i need to kill my pigs but it is what it is and they are keeping my family's bellies full all the year.If you want more info you can ask brocel.I'm going to buy some goats this spring like I used to have when i was little
