Anyone else starting to get legitimately scared about corona?

A few weeks ago it was still just some thing that happened in China. I used to read /pol/ every day and chuckle to myself about the doomsayers, like with every so-called "happening".

But now it feels real. I actually think there are very high chances of my mom and dad getting infected at a certain point, and they are exactly the demographic that are devastated the most by the virus.

Especially in this shitty country, things can get really bad.

An entire country is in quarantine. Hundreds of people are dying every day. It's known now that a person can spread the virus for 2 weeks before they show symptoms. Thousands can be infected and not even know about it and walk around infecting others. Even after recovering, a person can infect others for weeks afterwards. It spreads easily, through air. Hard to prevent it unless you're wearing a hazmat suit.

My parents are 49-54 so they're relatively safe. They also don't have any serious health issues. I don't have any serious or chronic health issues and I haven't been sick in over 5 years so I'm probably good too.
My grandparents live in small rural towns and they're tough people.

My parents are in their mid to late 50s, so I'm not sure if that's the dangerous demo. But I don't live with them so their death wouldn't affect me financially, if anything I'd get around 100-200k in inheritance. But that also goes the only people that care about me (arguably) so it's a tough sell.

The ''virus'' itself is not the problem here, it is how people react to this. Like I said, they use it as a nexcuse in order to justify certain behaviours. It is like that there is an ulterior motive behind all of this.
