For me, it was on /x/ and /pol/ when the creators of “I, Pet Goat II” made a video of just a guy recording a walk somewhere and everyone got on the ground to investigate it for Secret Society Jewish Freemasonry symbolism, doing the most autistic nonsensical analysis possible.

Nah, 7 years ago there was momentum towards something. More like 4 years ago. Last year was when any glimmer of hope towards addressing our cultural ills (that is, psychopathic corporate liberal virtue signalling and replacing Western culture with Walmart style consumerism) died for me. It was when the last flickering baby star disappeared and I realized we’re all in a dark ocean of chaos without light.

Part of it tho is growing up and realizing that not everyone joins something with good intent. Often times good things get hijacked by grifters.

Just look at how Lennon hijacked the Hippie movement and how Obama and Jon Stewart hijacked Occupy Wallstreet.

It was initially about saying fuck you to the government for drafting poorer citizens for illegal wars while Senator sons get off Scott free through connections, and a big middle finger towards the corporations and military industrial complex working together.
