I'm a millennial who was often lacking friends, especially in my teens, so I started using forums early to fill in that hole and I now realize that was unfortunate for me to do. I remember adults who knew I was like 14-17 or so saying the cruelest damn things over such petty matters. Some even probably older than my mom while I was still in my formative years.

Of course I've been harsh to others as well, some I knew to be young and other I didn't even know the ages of.

This has definitely taken it's toll on me. I'm sure it has on many, perhaps even most in my generation and more recent.

It's really fucked up when you think about it. It's unprecedented I think, a system where a group of people who would likely never even meet irl meeting to communicate with no real enforcable age gates and so little inhibition necessary.

And that isn't even getting into the porn, the general effect that having the internet always handy affects our minds, etc. So sickening, literally.

Cyberbullying is such a non issue though.

Internet is our only social life

The internet has made me hate society even more.

Forums are a fascinating concept. All social norms and ques go out the window. Things that may be jokes irl are turned serious on here through repetition. It is really an interesting psychology case. One must discern serious from joking matters, and the internet makes that VERY hard.

Honestly, internet communities helped me a lot in terms of finding validation, finding like-minded people, and having an open forum to talk and meet with people in general. There have been toxic elements there forever, but also a lot of beautiful things happen here. Maybe my skin is thicker than most, and maybe I had the fortune of being accepted in most communities whereas some other mentalcels here probably didn't have the same luxury, but I think the internet has been an important and positive influence on my life.

No, I enjoy hanging around here, Football and gaming reddits, gamefaqs, and rule 34

I was using computer since 7, got addicted to cs 1.6 when I was 11 to 12 y o then I went on hardcore internet mode at 13 and still keep going and here I am at 19.

Yeah, especially r/incels. But it's for the better. At least now I don't look like a dumbass trying to integrate with society. Now I know about the disgusting deformed sub subhuman I am and can isolate myself from the normies and stay in my place.
