Discussion any usual good students start slipping?

i have always been an A and B student, i got recommended to be pushed up a grade twice in elementary, recommended for gifted classes, called a model student, been top of my class before, etc. etc. but last year i got super lazy and unmotivated due to my depression hitting me like a train and i even ended up getting a D for english in the 2nd quarter cus i half assed a huge project. i am noticing i care less about school than i used to and am even seriously considering dropping out soon

Yes I used to get good grades and was well behaved I started getting bad grades in 7th grade and started acting up at school during 9th grade

easy for you to say when you arent me. its really hard to find motivation for anything, even getting out of my bed to get on my computer to play games feels like an accomplishment

I always was a good student and even in the darkest moments of my life, I managed to ensure that my grades and seriousness did not be influenced by that.
But on the last semester I couldn't, I lost all my motivation and my grades went downhill. Fortunately the teachers at my uni are pretty laxist so I could pass without much trouble.

i am diagnosed w depression how are you gonna tell me im not jfl

i get that a lot of zoomertards do self diagnose themselves with a lot of bullshit to look cool but nah i have had to do a lot of counseling and i have a few diagnoses to my record

I didn’t get Fs but my grades went down and I started to not give a shit about tests, homework, class work or any of the assignments and barley put in effort. That said I still got into an alright college but could have done way better if I didn’t feel like absolute shit every time I went to school seeing everyone having fun with their friends and laughing and talking about life and their future besides me. I was the weirdo in the back of the class who kept his head down listening to music.

I was an autistic mute with severe social anxiety (very ugly) for a long, long time.

During the last year of HS in which I changed schools, depression hit like a truck due to extreme isolation and lack of social contact then my grades started tanking. It has only been getting worse in college now that I have failed two consecutive semesters as a freshman. Everyone tells me I should get motivated and shit but they never take into account:
1. My mental capacity has severely deteriorated ever since I left school, my growth got stunted and I'm not nearly as capable as I was before
2. It's kinda hard to be motivated in the first place when I have 0 reasons to be, I'm ugly, lonely, depressed, with a non-existent social life or any future prospects

I had very similar experience - very good student until university.
When you see that everyone at university is getting girlfriend just not you, it is fucking drilling your mind and you cant just ignore it and learn stuff, Its always on the back of your head and one can never truly focus.
I barely passed last exams at university.
